Why Hunt?People choose to hunt for many reasons. Whether or not you choose to hunt, it is important to understand how modern hunting is used by wildlife managers to help ensure the future well-being of our wildlife species.
Alberta Conservation and Hunter EducationThe primary goal of the Hunter Education Program is to provide an understanding of the role of hunting in wildlife management and conservation. Equally important is the safe and proper handling of firearms and respect for the property of others (you will NOT be handling firearms in this course). This program is not intended to convince you to become a hunter. Your choice, whether to hunt or not, is strictly a personal decision.
Following successful completion of all course content, students will be required to complete a multiple choice examination. In order to qualify for a valid Alberta Hunter's Certificate, students are required to complete the exam with a 70% pass rate.
